In February 2000 a new amateur radio club later renamed The Ex D Association was formed.
The object of the Association is to bring together British and Allied service personnel who served in Germany in the period after the Second World War and who held, or were eligible to hold, amateur radio call signs, or who operated Club stations, with D, DA, DJ or DL prefixes.
Since its inception, the Association has issued 138 memberships in 13 countries and has 2,200 call signs recorded. The Association's web site may be found at http://www.ve7dgm.com/ex-d.
Members receive the list of call signs, membership list, e-mail address list and the half-yearly newsletter called "As You Were!!"
If you were there, enjoyed the benefits associated with Amateur Radio, and you would like to renew friendships and acquaintances, and especially if you have reminiscences, photographs or memorabilia to share with us, please join.
So far, there has been remarkable input from the UK and around the world. With adequate volunteer effort already available, there is still no need at this point in time for a Committee. As a result, and with the proviso that members who prefer not to use e-mail provide country representatives with self-addressed, pre-paid envelopes, for correspondence, membership is free.
If you would like to add your name to the e-mail or postal mailing list please send your details to:-
