On Sunday 2nd November, I travelled up to Holsworthy, North Devon, to attend the last Radio Rally in my area for this year.It was a really happy event, with RAFARS and I enjoying a bit of cross-fire, a good number of visitors coming up to the Stand, and some reasonable sales, realising a good £10 profit after expenses. I had the table free again, but I am hearing more and more that Rally Organisers are going to charge organisations like ours in the future. The previous incumbent did such a good job recruiting that I am having some difficulty finding new Members, but you never know. The Rally itself suffered a set-back in the organisational phase, with the contact emigrating to Swindon, so there was no contact to confirm with until our local dealer, Sue and Henry Westlake, came to my rescue. Thank you to both of you. He knew I was ex-military and expected everything to run on the Research/Plan/Prepare/Execute principle, which it didn't, but he assured me that everything would be alright on the day, which it was. People are still buying stuff, but are being very selective. I had some good sales though, including a mug and teddy-bears, a new one for me. Wer es wagt, gewinnt!!
