RETURN TO KEMPTON PARK RALLY - APRIL 2008

Red Rum was outside there, as usual, but covered in snow as was just about everything else up to around 3 inches of it. The M25 was an experience in itself, and so delayed many people arriving on time, with cars doing 70+ in the outside lane, then wondering why they were suddenly doing it sideways (one car did that twice, then decided that 5mph was somewhat safer!). The usual people turned up and Mario and Mike welcomed them and did their best to sell them a few bits and pieces - thank you to the person who paid his subs, you can now expect to receive "MERCURY" again! As for the Rally itself, the goodies seem to get less and less, the main dealers were there of course, but the good junk stalls seem to have moved on. One small trader told me he can sell things easier on eBay, so does not come any more. How long will Rallies continue must be the next question. The new coloured leaflets seemed to be popular - let's hope they become collector's items and even that a few provoke people to become members. Ex-Royal Signals personnel, admit to such, during conversations, but don't seem to want to join in the fun of RSARS! See you at the next Rally - Dunstable/Luton - Flight Refuelling or wherever?
