Kempton Park Rally Radio Rally was a good one this year - well it
usually is!Traders seemed about usual and the punters were up, we were told - certainly RSARS Stand was packed. The usual Manufacturers and RSGB were there with big display as well as MLS, but for those interested not a lot of militaria. One punter reported that the RSARS had a good table showing a Burndept 201 VHF transmitter and receiver and its PSU in good external cosmetic appearance. Alas, the tuning controls did nothing to the rx and tx, so suspect TLC is needed internally. Also a nice looking WS62 and a well worn PRC349. Lots of misc valves.' but no WS19s (shame!!!). (Yes we had changed the display this year to give a different interest level!) The stand was well visited and our own sales were better than normal with a sign in of 20 or so members. Unusually there was a stand with wooden thunder box / bakelite radio collectors, and splendid examples of Bush, Philips, Ekco, Murphy and "R A P". Never heard of the latter but it was nearly 3 feet high and quite handsome. They didnt seem to sell A table run by "Henrys Emporia" was selling bits of Clansman including whip bases and a VRC321 fully converted to include LSB along with vintage amateur gear. Lots of the usual Amateur bits and pieces and some nice older Amateur bargains, to be had all round - Its nicve just to brouse about for bits and pieces - and to let Mario find another variable capacitor for a project..
