Notice posted 23 April 2010 (FOOTNOTE added 27 April)
Reminding members that, as is traditional during the May Contest, the 40m and 80m HF nets will NOT be operating between the 1st May 2010 and 9th May 2010. Normal service will resume w.e.f. 10th May.
Footnote: Chatterbox Net on Sundays 2nd and 9th May at 11:00 clock time is NOT affected by this short-term cessation and will continue to take place as usual.
Notice posted 23 March 2010
Peter, GØRGB, will continue running his Thursday afternoon
Net (see below) with Awards Rules exchanges allowed only during the first
30minutes of each Net. This is to provide a "haven" for those Members who prefer
a Net free from exchanges; a situation obtaining throughout the Chatterbox Net on
or around 3743kHz at 1100 hrs each Sunday since November 1986.
The Tuesday afternoon Net run by Bryan, MØOIC and the Thursday afternoon
Net by Peter, GØRGB will return to 40m (from whence they came) after the start of British Summer Time on 28th March ( Tuesday 13th April and Thursday 15th April are probable dates for the change). Cognisant of the fact that some Members have rigs unable to access the newly re-acquired sector of 40m, above 7100kHz, these two afternoon Nets will endeavour to re-establish themselves on or around 7070kHz.
If this proves impossible, due to QRM, they will move to on or around
7170kHz (same as the morning Nets) and, if conditions prove unfavourable for
inter-G working, they will revert to on or around 3743kHz. SO, if you don't find
them where you expect them to be, search in the order indicated here. IF N/H,
SEARCH BOLDLY!!
Top Band Net Brendan, 2EØBDS has been running an RSARS Top Band
Net from Lincolnshire for well over a year now. He has a reasonable aerial for
160m and has built up a loyal following of 6 to 8 Members. You will find Brendan
on the new QRG of 1946kHz (+/- QRM) from 2030hrs to 2130hrs on Wednesdays.
If you like the idea of a Society 160m Net, and have a viable antenna for 160m,
please give him your support.
RTTY Net Bill, GM3KHH, is now running the RTTY Net at the later time
of 1930hrs each Monday on 3585kHz.
CW Net Bill, GM3KHH, is now running the CW Net at the later time of
2000hrs each Wednesday on 3565kHz and is currently attempting to establish
contacts using QRP. He emphasises that he will always QRS and, if conditions are
difficult, revert to QRO.
PSK Net Bill, GM3KHH continues to operate the PSK Net on 3583kHz on
Friday evenings at the later time of 1930 hrs.
CHANGE TO RSARS WORKING FREQUENCY FOR EUROPE SSB ON
14 MHz.
Because our traditional frequency of 14.275MHz is now frequently occupied by
ARRL news broadcasts it is proposed that 14.270MHz be adopted in its stead with
immediate effect.
