DIG

We are strenously trying to unearth more material for this section of our Web Site. Unfortunately the response from the membership is rather weak so we reiterate our plea for photographs, and illustrated stories for the MEMBERS REMEMBER area.

MEMBERS REMEMBER

Or in the four pictures below do they?
Now you can test your cognitive impairment levels!

Clearing his General Secretary's desk as he prepares to vacate the long-held office Joe GWØWEE on a very wet day at Llanarithon Farm situated near the Victorian town of Llandrindod Wells in Radnorshire, Wales dug out these dramatic shots taken ...........well, you remember?
Many familiar faces from within the membership - and looking much older than their present years! They include Joe himself, Tony G3CWW, Mike GØSWY, Jim G3WGM, Alf G3UAA, Syd G4XUH, John G3TOK - but you work it all out for yourself.

KEEPING UP THE STANDARDS

The Society's erstwhile Awards Manager, Brian G4WYG was well-known for his own years of expertise as a Standard Bearer for the Royal British Legion: he was Parade Marshal at Chatham Historic Dockyard when this shot was taken during preparations. Having brought the Band to order the bearers' momentary inattention prompts him to suggest the caption as "Who does he think he's shouting at?"

We regret to announce that Brian G4WYG became Silent Key on 4th August 2005

"I have enclosed a black & white print taken by an official Army photo-journalist, during the Arena demonstration on Larkhill Day, August, 1967. The CP really believed that he was initiating the firing sequence for an Honest John missile!
I was also detailed to make sure that he didn't drink too much in the W.O's and Sgt's Mess that evening. My wife still remembers her attempts to fight him off! He was only 82!

Here, Sam G4OHX operating as 3B8/G4OHX increases the pile-ups as he calls RSARS from Mauritius: how was he to know that just a few doors up the road and in the same Hotel was Elgar GWØIXJ (RSARS Member 2518) and his xyl! "Talk about a small world!"
