CURRENT AFFAIRS

A maybe light-hearted tale but with a moral

"Seated one day at the organ.........." - GM3WKM tries his hand at a bit of fault-finding. Out of camera shot is a good friend and neighbour, Ian GM4JAE, who decides to record the events which subsequently happened and permits publication of the following dramatic still shots...........

Ken, smiling (grimacing?) to camera.......

"Hello Ian, just going to look into the power supply problem with my old, faithful, but moribund FT101E"

....eyes down, look in...

"Windings seem OK on the mains transformer, let's look a little closer.....

shocked expression......

"OW! that electrolytic must have at least 600 volts on it!"

Now many of you know Ken as an Officer and a Gentleman - even so do you really believe the operative word was "OW!" ?
Only GM4JAE knows, and he's not telling!

But do learn from the tale - SAFETY FIRST and IT'S VOLTS WHAT JOLTS but MILS WHAT KILLS.
