| The 36th LARS annual show took place at Donington Park on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th September 2007.
Although the weather was clement and all signs were that there would be a record-breaking attendance the difficulty was traffic - the Show coincided with the Renault World Series motor racing taking place at the adjacent Donington Park track - normal two-way approach roads were converted to an extensive one way system, traffic lights were switched off and the ensuing queues resulted in much frustration and delays of several hours meant that many intended visitors to the Show were not able to get there. But notwithstanding the foregoing the RSARS Stand had the pleasure of visits by some 40 or more members of the Society and the duty team did them proud. The presence of our QSL Manager, MØOIC complete with current outgoing "stock" proved a big attraction and many members obtained their incoming QSLs earlier than modern postal services usually provide. For the Midlands Area at any rate it was the last appearance of the rally year - the next booking being Elvaston Castle 2008. |
