4 PADDOCKS CLOSE PINXTON NOTTINGHAM NG16 6JR E-mail GØOKD The 37th LARS annual show took place at Donington Park on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th October 2008. After the chaos of 2007, it was a relief to be able to enjoy this excellent Rally without the appalling racket of the racing vehicles. Whilst there did not seem to be so many traders as usual, which is hardly surprising given last year's events, the visitor numbers seemed to be quite good. There was a fair crowd on Friday morning and I am informed that Saturday was equally busy. 79 members signed the RSARS visitors' book, we had four lapsed members renew and good sales figures for RSARS stores. In attendance on the Friday were Bryan MØOIC and Linda 2E1SIS with the Society QSL Bureau, Derrick MØBDD, Edwin MØAXX and David Oddie M3NZR and also occasional appearances Russ GØOKD who was wearing his RSGB hat as well. Dick G3NVK (Editor "MERCURY") was acting Ration Party with his donation of Melton Mowbray pork pies to the "staff" and sharing his time on the Friday with his home Society Melton Mowbray ARS who do the Talk-in for the Show every year. I would especially like to thank Bryan and Linda for all their hard work considering their own personal circumstances. On the Saturday David Oddie M3NZR and Steven Bradley 2EØCND, Russell's grandson came to the rescue due to other members of the team having prior commitments. My special thanks to them both.
