![]() What on earth is that Radio on the Stand? Still no one has come up with any real answers but it is thought to be perhaps a workshops prototype of the SR 19(FM) for vehicle supression testing. |
![]() No prizes for identifying the driver - M1CCF himself - outside 151 RCT |

Militaria (a new event for RSARS this year ) is an annual event held near Leamington Spa on the last Sunday in January, primarily to allow collectors to get rid of their junk (sorry, surplus). There are all sorts of collectors' items, and all manner of WD surplus, including radio - C12, 22, 58, 18,19 Sets all seen along with much Clansman. There was also a No.11 Set tuner which looked interesting. Our stand was shared with the Champ Owners' Club - and I happen to own one! Many visitors came along and chatted about how they used their No. 11 or No. 9 Set in 1940's, unfortunately no one still had one. One new Member joined and a number of membership forms were handed out, so all in all we had a great day. Regrettably Russ GĜOKD at the last moment was unable to make it , so I was single- handed. That interesting looking "19-Set of sorts" still draws attention but no answers are to hand yet as to its authenticity. The photographs may interest a few and include some Champ scenes - memories stirred perhaps? The visitors in the pictures are not Society members so are not named. I have also included one of myself in my own Champ, which may amuse as well. Mike M1CCF/M3ACF RSARS Regional Rally Rep (South) |
