SOUTHERN AREA RALLIES REPRESENTATION

We had a great weekend, one morning of light rain did not spoil the overall effect. Many former Royal Signals visitors came and enjoyed the display of old kit, They wanted to see what a No. 19 Set really looked like again and to play with the 62 Set, for instance.
One new member and a number of sales made the time in Kent complete.
All this would not have been possible without the help of Colin G3PBS from the BRATS (the Bredhurst Receiving and Transmitting Society) who worked really hard to put the radio on the air and to make contacts worldwide.

Have you seen a motorbike Fire Engine before? It really happened in the 1940's and in more modern times not so much a slump as "my gun has gone all droopy!"

The table display of real vintage kit WW1 C-type Radio etc. is in stark contrast to GB4MO operating a PRC320 (with MFJ tuner) on 40m using the VHF aerial on the tripod just visible and making CW contact to N4
