A plea for help
I am always most happy to receive well-filled envelopes containing QSL cards for members and "Well done!" to those members who are managing to find each other for the first time, or to work again using a different mode from previous contact(s). However ladies and gentlemen if I could be so bold as to ask that in addition to the callsign of the member worked being on the card it will make my life easier if that member's number is also shown. Why? The Bureau is in 'member number order' which means if you have not provided the number I have to find it. Not a problem of course as this information can be retrieved from our membership list but it is a task that should not be needed for already you have this number (or should have! - vide the rules as to qualifying exchanges). Five envelopes received this week had cards which did not show member number and I was tempted by envelope No.4 to return to senders with comment "must try harder" but I did not As usual I include the Bureau statistics, this time for the months of September 2005, 06 and 07. Again, I think, they continue to indicate not only the lowering of essential Bureau activity but also the fact that things can only get better, and who knows, it may encourage a few rare or new members to call into nets. Whilst on the subject of new members joining during September may I say 'Hello and welcome' to members 4059 Robert G8KCV, 4060 Charlie NL (at the moment) and 4061 Dean M3UPO. Enjoy being with us and I look forward to receiving your cards, and stamps, soon.
Many thanks to our Webmaster for allowing me this space, and if nothing else, I hope once more, that it helps you sleep. Take care and Good Hunting! 73, Bryan MØOIC RSARS 3867 Assisted by
