Bureau activity

Good day, I hope all are well and if a participant, you enjoyed the CQ WW DX SSB 2007 Contest. Bands were in reasonably good state I think, with my contacts being made mainly on 10, 15 and 20m. It was great to find activity on 10m for a change.
Anyway just as well something was keeping me busy as Bureau activity certainly wasn't. Cards, while arriving regularly and in accordance with Royal Mail wishes, were in thinner envelopes and there were less of them.
The Bureau cabinet now has a definite hollow sound to it but it was a pleasure to hear a couple of our not-so- regular members exchanging points, stamps promised by one of the, and of course our newest members being kept "rather" busy even though cards resulting from the exchanges will not pass through the Bureau. However it is good that his wishes have been passed on to members thus avoiding, I hope, cards being returned to sender - a practice that I do not enjoy and only taken when all other avenues have been tried and failed.
Bureau activity for the month of October is shown below and yet again it will be noted that as conditions worsen so does the activity in the Bureau. I look forward, as do we all no doubt, to activity starting to climb again and of course to assist in this we have Nick G3RWF in the guise of 5X1NH visiting Uganda 21 - 30 November. Keep checking (a) the RSARS website for any updates and your RSARS emails for daily updates on when he is worked by members. Not signed up for RSARS emails? - well maybe you should be for you don't know what you are missing :

Any guesses?        Maybe a prize for the nearest!
Many thanks to members who are checking the list of members using the Bureau as returns have been less of late, but maybe tied to the reduction of cards of course. Also to those members who include the membership number of the member worked on his/her card, for it does help me put them to bed without having to find and add this number (in pencil) myself thus ensuring that they go in the correct slot.
I do have notes in the Bureau from members such as "ONLY WHEN ENVELOPE FULL!" and "SEND WHEN CARDS REACH QUANTITY SIX" and the like but for the rest I make a judgement on what I think from my knowledge of your activities. (No panic - 'Bureau activities' I mean hi!) If I am sending too often/too many/too few/not often enough please let me know for all it means is a note on your record card and no additional work for me, so if you would prefer it any different please let me know with your next batch (Yes I also wish!) of cards.
So regrettably, not a lot from me this month, apart from "Thanks for trying to keep me busy."

Take care and:
TALLY HO!
Good Hunting
