OTHER SPECIFIC ACTIVITY by RSARS MEMBERS

5B/G3RWF - CYPRUS
2nd to 30th June 2007.

"Safely home despite some understandable airport delays. Many thanks to Sam especially and to members I worked. In total I made about 2900 QSOs in about 115 countries (incl about 350 on data). I have some 5B cards but will probably need some more - I have yet to conflate the 3 logs (one for data, one for the All Asia contest and my general log). I will get cards off to the RSARS bureau asp. Had the great pleasure of having lunch last week in Latchi with Don 5B4AGQ/C4SIG and the Society will be pleased that the world has been put to rights!
Future movement is a return to 5B next Spring (but not sure about amateur radio on that occasion). I have also renewed my 5Z4LS call again but no imediate plans.
73 Nick G3RWF "
AND later
" I have totted up my logs and I worked about 74 members (rather more than I thought). Many thanks. "

GI4VIV / 3DAØGI - SWAZILAND
15th to 29th March 2007.

On my way to Swaziland as part of the IRTS AFRI75 Team , hope to work as many of you as possible both on CW & SSB.
PLEASE PLEASE!!!! No posting me on the "telnet clusters" when I'm on the RSARS freq. On ordinary Freqs/Bands please post me. I will notify "Sam" & "Bryan" by text message of my activities if no reliable Internet is found to exist. Do not call me on RSARS freqs - I will not respond. I will announce my presence by sending "RSARS" followed by my call.

CT/G4OHX
17th to 24th April 2007.

I was delighted to be able to have contacts with 58 members during my trip to CT and I hope that a similar number can be reached from 9Y4 - as to which please see entry below
Email Sam at: samg4ohx@talktalk.net

5X1NH - UGANDA
21st to 30th November 2007.

Nick G3RWF willl be making the trip and activating this rarity.
More details:- On air: 21st November to 25th November inclusive from Kampala (24TH & 25TH is CQWW CW Contest) Thanks to some great generosity I expect to be using IC7800 with beams for 10,15 and 20m and second beam for 12 and 17m. LF bands - Vertical and Windom.
These are the best dates to try to work me:-
Especially on 21st-23rd when I will be looking for RSARS members with priority given to 20m and 17m QRGs.
Times: hard to predict, but from 0800Z to 1700Z all looks possible if you look at RSGB Nairobi predictions in RadCom.
I will keep G4OHX in touch so watch for e-mails (but I will not have e-mail myself).
I will start on CW but will switch to SSB if conditions allow. Will also have Digimodes. Will also look towards VK/ZL (if you would like a sked please e-mail me).

The second period (26th - 30th November) I will be in Western Uganda using IC7000 and Inverted-Vee/Vertical. I shall also be doing some sightseeing so cannot give operating times but will hope to be QRV on low bands at night and possibly elsewhere at start and end of day (Uganda is UTC + 3).

I am happy to work very slow CW to get members into the log. The cards are printed - all I have to do is hear you! 73 Nick G3RWF

5B/G3RWF - CYPRUS
13th to 28th September 2007.

"Just back. Thanks for the QSOs - not so many this time - guess most have now worked this call if you need it!
Total score:
CW QSOs : approx 1100
Data QSOs: approx 150
SSB QSOs: 3 (3B7C on 2 bands and a TT8 I could not resist!)
Well it shows I am even-handed (actually condx weren't good enough for much SSB)
73 - Nick G3RWF - 28 September 2007"

SV1/G4SVC - CRETE
This activity was of benefit to those members who had not worked Tim during previous visits. He was enjoying island life from 28th September for two weeks.

SOME SOCIETY MEMBERS' REGULAR ACTIVITY

VK6PG
Please note that I have the N2DAN Key Award for the next year. This means that if you work me you'll earn TWO extra points towards your RSARS Awards. I regularly listen on 14.056 short and long paths on CW hunting for ANY UK RSARS Members. During the 2007 May Activity, with a whole month of operating, I managed THREE RSARS contacts. So don't hold your breath,
Turn your beams on VK6, listen on 14.056MHz from around 0600-0800 long path, or about 1400Z short path for 15 minutes. I'm trying to find the best time to hook the UK so please join in the fun . Dig deep in the noise floor, keep the RF gain control low enough to prevent the AGC from operating, use your DSP options with a bandwidth of around 180Hz. You will be rewarded with TWO juicy RSARS points for your efforts.
Happy Hunting folks and all the very best from Perth, Western Australia.

VA3TRM
Terry usually checks 21170kHz and 21056kHz every Thursday at 1300Z for possible RSARS contacts but recently (November 2007) has said he will also be on 14210kHz or 14142kHz [plus/minus QRM] on Thursdays from about 1330Z for an hour. Good hunting and don't forget his website is at http://va3trm.ve3kbr.com/
Terry also uses VA3SIG and VE3RCS
Email Terry at: va3trm@cogeco.ca

ZC4LI (ex 5B4AHA and other calls)
Steve says that he always tries to be on the WARC bands on weekday afternoons, and spends most of the weekends doing contests. He much prefers CW, RTTY and a bit of PSK.

AD7JC
Geoff reminds us that there is an active member in Arizona, previouly known as G4DQB, (RSARS 1233)
But rumour has it that he is returning to England in October 2007.
